People who are willing to contemplate their aging, vulnerability, and mortality often live better lives in old age and illness and experience better deaths than those who don’t.

Our Beginning

The Peaceful Presence Project was born from a deep commitment to compassionate end-of-life care by a dedicated team of passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds in nursing, community development, education, and caregiving.
In 2019, we recognized a vital need for non-medical, heart-centered support for individuals and families navigating serious illness and dying. We saw an opportunity to complement hospice and palliative care while also offering personalized guidance for those seeking to live well while facing mortality. As a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dedicated to serving all who seek our support, regardless of financial circumstances.

Our Mission

The Peaceful Presence Project reimagines and transforms the way communities talk about, plan for and experience the last stage of life. We are cultivating a Compassionate Communities Model of Care in the United States, and improving death literacy to improve end-of-life experiences for all.
