Compassion fundS for oregon based end of life doulas

We are so grateful to our Compassion Funding partners The Rosendin Foundation and the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation. Their support allows us to bring skilled end of life doula care to high-need Oregonians who lack the financial means to pay for services. Compassion Funds are available to end of life doulas working with clients in the following Oregon Counties:

The Peaceful Presence Project has secured funding in an effort to bring ‘Compassion Funds’ to high need Oregonians. These are individuals or families who would benefit from end-of-life doula services, but don’t have the financial means to pay. Securing these funds means trained end-of-life doulas can be compensated for their valuable time and support, and families or individuals navigating a serious or terminal illness can also benefit from end-of-life doula involvement.

At this stage, we have funding to compensate doulas in the following Oregon counties: Coos, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Klamath, Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook. As a reminder, these services could extend from upstream support with advance care planning services, holistic end-of-life planning, etc. all the way through post-death bereavement support for a family.

In order to be considered for funding support, interested doulas will need to fill out an online application. You can locate it HERE. This helps The Peaceful Presence Project staff to assess the type of proposed need that a doula is responding to, as well as the plan for engagement. These funds can be made available to both Peaceful Presence-trained and non-Peaceful Presence trained doulas residing in the above counties.

You can reach out to Kari Sims Anthon, Peaceful Presence Program Manager at kari@thepeacefulpresenceproject.org with further questions, clarifications, etc.

The funding window will be open from March 1-December 31, 2024
