The work and vision of The Peaceful Presence Project is guided by the Compassionate Communities Model of Care. This public health approach to palliative care finds support beyond health and social services— empowering community members to be active participants in caring for one another during times of illness, loss and grief.
Our vision is for Oregon to be a model for the nation when it comes to an active adoption of the Compassionate Community framework. We can improve the way we are responding to and supporting serious and terminal illness. Below you will find more details about our 5-year plan to develop an Oregon statewide serious illness support network. Take a look and and please get in touch if you or your organization can see yourself playing a role in advancing the outlined goals. We look forward to collaborating!
