Jennifer (Jen) Sowers
Growing up, Jen found herself at the bedside of several loved ones at the end of their lives, so death always seemed like a natural life experience. However at age 26 when her dad passed with cancer, she as the oldest child found herself more proactively and intensely involved in the whole process of illness, dying, bereavement and what's left afterward. After she walked her grandmother through her death experience a few years later, she knew that she was being called intentionally to the gentle work of supporting people through this final transition of their lives. She hopes to continue to be instrumental in facilitating a meaningful experience for both the dying and their loved ones that integrates all of the aspects of what it means to be human.
Jen completed the Peaceful Presence End of Life Doula Training in 2024. She is a licensed psychotherapist in Sisters and a chaplain with the Central Oregon Public Safety Chaplaincy.
