Katy Segura-Whitman
Katy first felt called to end-of-life care while working as a paramedic and becoming intimately aware of just how close we all are to death. She is passionate about community care, mutual aid, and witnessing and companioning others through the spaces around death, dying, and grief. She had the honor of attending to her mother-in-law in 2014 and her mother in 2016 as they each navigated their final days.
Katy trained with The Peaceful Presence Project as part of the Oregon Rural End-of-Life Doula Initiative and is a member of NEDA and The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death. She holds a BS in Urban and Public Affairs and Community Health and maintains her Paramedic licensure.
