The Peaceful Presence Project 2025 Continuing Education Series Presents:
Creating Meaningful Obituaries & Eulogies
Online Workshop, Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00-6:00 pm Pacific
With Guest Presenter:
Britany Robinson , Journalist & Obituary Writer
About the Workshop:
When someone is suddenly faced with the responsibility of writing an obituary, words often fail them. They are deep in grief, and then they are tasked with writing something about a person they've just lost. Or, a funeral home collects some very basic details to write an obituary that probably feels formulaic and impersonal. But writing an obituary can be a beautiful and comforting opportunity to remember the details of a life that are often lost when we reduce them to timelines and milestones. Whether you write your own obituary in advance or memorialize a loved one, a little support and guidance can transform this process from a stressful task into a profound and joyful exercise. Britany helps people dig through the fog of grief to remember what made their person so special— to honor them with thoughtfulness and love. In this presentation, she'll share her process, why everyone should consider writing their own obituary, and solutions to common challenges when tasked with writing one for someone else.
