Will I be a certified End of Life Doula if I take the Professional Course?
From the National End of Life Doula Alliance:
Many people ask about certification for end-of-life doulas. We understand. It's confusing. We each want the families we serve and the professionals we interact with to respect our experience and expertise, and to trust that we have the skills necessary to serve them in the best way possible. To prove our skill and training level, certification is often the answer. However, there is no universally recognized local, regional, or federal authority, regulatory or accrediting body that holds the liability or provides monitoring for end-of-life doulas.

We have designed the Professional Training to prepare you for the NEDA Proficiency Examination. This is the only national standard measure of end of life doula skills.

Do you offer mentorship?

Yes! We offer mentorship on an hourly rate, either as needed as you progress through the course, or after completion. In addition, we offer a series of continuing education workshops to further your doula knowledge.

Are there required textbooks?

There will be required readings provided and suggested books; most of the books should be available at your local library.

Do I have to attend all of the live sessions if I enroll in the Facilitated Training?

This facilitated course is an opportunity for us to build a professional community together, as well as learn from each other. The full schedule of live sessions is provided in advance and we hope that you have taken the time to see that you have space and commitment to the course. As such, the live sessions are required if you enroll in the facilitated training.

Do you offer a payment plan?

We offer an option to divide your payment for the course into 2 installments,  30 days apart. We also offer a scholarship program- see below for more info.

Other creative ways to pay:

  • Instead of things for your birthday or anniversary, ask for an investment in your professional development!

  • Offer your benefactor free doula services in exchange for their generosity in helping you pay for the course.

What is your refund policy?
We offer an 80% refund up to 30 days prior to the course start date. From 14-30 days prior to start date, we offer a 50% refund; with less than 14 days prior to start date, we cannot offer refunds. Please contact us if you have questions or want to request a refund.

Can I get a job with The Peaceful Presence Project upon completion of the training?

This training is indeed a prerequisite for working with us, however it is not a guarantee or offer of employment. We would be delighted to talk more about opportunities with our organization when they come up.

Who do I contact with more questions or for information?

Please send us an email at info@thepeacefulpresenceproject.org and we can schedule a time to answer any questions you may have.

How do I apply for your scholarship program?

We are so glad you asked! We have two (2) partial scholarship spots for the Professional Training available and welcome you to apply if the tuition is prohibitive to your participation. We would like to make these courses accessible to those who have a passion for this model of care. Get in touch so we can make it possible for you.

Please send an email to info@thepeacefulpresenceproject.org to request our scholarship application.
